Is it possible to get a tattoo done on a limited budget? We understand the importance of creating a tattoo that not only reflects your vision but also stays within your budget. You may let our inquiry managers know your budget details, or discuss it directly with the artist during the consultation. We offer several options to make your tattoo more affordable, including design modifications such as adjusting the size and intricacy of the artwork. Additionally, you have the option to work with our senior or junior artists, who have different pricing rates.
-
Does Coal Tattoo Studio accept cover-up projects?Accepting cover-up work is handled on a case-by-case basis. Due to the unique challenges and intricacies involved in cover-up tattoos, we require an in-person or online consultation in almost all cases. This allows our artists to assess your existing tattoo and discuss possible design options with you in detail. It's important to note that a successful cover-up often necessitates a design that is significantly larger and darker than the original tattoo. This rule of thumb generally means that the new tattoo must be at least twice or thrice as large and twice as dark to effectively mask the old ink.
-
Can I bring my family & friends? We kindly ask that you attend your appointment alone. The tattooing process is most effective when it's a collaborative effort between you and your artist, without additional voices influencing the decision-making. If you feel it's important to have someone accompany you, please discuss it with your artist beforehand. For sanitary and liability reasons, only clients are permitted in the tattooing area. Our studio is conveniently located near excellent cafés and shopping malls, making it easy for your guests to explore the area while they wait.
-
Can I bring my pet?We are passionate about providing a clean and safe environment for all of our clients. For sanitary reasons, pets are not allowed in our studio. This policy helps us maintain the highest standards of hygiene and ensures a peaceful atmosphere for everyone getting tattooed.
-
Are your tattoo inks vegan and cruelty-free?We use Dynamic Ink — 100% vegan, cruelty-free, hypoallergenic, and is manufactured using only non-toxic ingredients. It contains zero animal products and is never tested on any furry friends.
-
Does Coal Tattoo Studio offer numbing cream for tattoos, and is it recommended to use it?We understand that some clients may be concerned about the potential pain associated with getting a tattoo. While we do have numbing cream available upon request, we generally do not recommend its use for the reason that we cannot predict how each client's skin will react to it. If you are considering using numbing cream, please discuss it with your tattoo artist during your consultation.
-
How many sessions should I expect for a full-sleeve tattoo at Coal Tattoo Studio?Full-sleeve tattoo projects are an intricate and collaborative process. Typically, completing a full-sleeve tattoo will require 4 to 6 sessions. The exact number of sessions depends on several factors including the artist, complexity of the design, the intricacy of the artwork, and the size of the placement. Each session is tailored to ensure the highest quality and most detailed work.
-
When can I see a preview of my design?Your artist will customize the design during your appointment. We prioritize size and fit, taking your body anatomy into careful consideration. Rest assured, our goal is to meet your vision and specifications. We're committed to revising the design as needed until you're completely satisfied before proceeding with the session. Additionally, we offer a free consultation prior to your session where you can discuss your initial ideas and concept with your artist.
-
What if I am unsure of which artist to choose? Our inquiry managers will be happy to recommend the best artist for you. Feel free to explore our artists' portfolios to find whose work resonates with you the most.
-
What should I expect in terms of maintenance for a microrealism tattoo? Is retouch included in your rates?Due to the fine details and delicate nature of these designs, they may be more prone to fading over time compared to larger, bolder tattoos. To help maintain the sharpness and clarity of your microrealism tattoo, the FIRST RETOUCH is already included in our rates. This initial touch-up is essential for ensuring your tattoo looks its best as it ages.
-
Can I go swimming after getting a tattoo? We strongly advise against swimming or any water-related activities until your tattoo is fully healed, which typically takes about 4-6 weeks. Exposing a fresh tattoo to water, especially chlorinated pools, lakes, or oceans, can introduce harmful bacteria, increase the risk of infection, and potentially damage the healing tattoo. While swimming is off the table, you can still take showers as normal, but make sure to avoid soaking the tattooed area. If you have any further questions about aftercare, feel free to reach out to us directly for personalized advice.
